I couldn't pass up a great opportunity to pull out my collection of watercolors and spruce up my list. Isn't that what spring is? Sprucing up after the cold, somber winter. Adding color to the bleak.
Spring to me is...
In obvious eyes, the crocus. The first flower of spring followed by daffodils. Living in the north, I now see these croci/crocuses pop up all over the place and daffodils multiply like rabbits on the side of the road, something very unfamiliar where I lived in the south (unless they were forced by expert gardeners which I am not). And tulips, vases and vases of white tulips make me very happy (hint, hint hubby).
Here's my few croci/crocuseseseses not destroyed by the snow.
There's also chicks. Baby chicks with cracked eggs. I still want my own chicken coop with chickens who follow me like I'm their momma. (That's still on my list of wants.)
Rainbows also make me think of spring. Where I live there's ample rain and mist, and though seeing a rainbow over the bay isn't an everyday occurrence, it happens more often in spring than it does the rest of the year.
Paris. Yes!! I love Paris and have always wanted to go in the spring when the trees and flowers are in bloom and fairy lights sparkle across the Eiffel Tour. (On my places to go list as well.)
Birds chirping, new nests (out with the old, in with the new) and fresh green grass... all signs spring has arrived. Granted the blast of snow we got today put a damper on my second day of spring enjoyment, but the sun (another item on my list) came out and is melting the snow fast, and winking because Hell Yeah! It's Spring! (bye-bye winter)
And then there's Alice. Her Wonderland is the bright, colorful, cheerful epitome of spring. I love watching Alice in Wonderland and looking back, I think I always watched it in the spring.
Spring to me is... HERE!
